Chandramouli assumes charge as new health secretary

K Chandramouli has assumed charge as secretary, ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.  Chandramouli is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the Uttar Pradesh Cadre of the 1975 batch. He succeeds K Sujatha Rao who has retired.


Prior to this appointment Chandramouli was functioning as secretary and Director General, National AIDS Control Organization. He would presently continue to hold the charge of DG, NACO. Spanning his 35 years of career, Chandramouli has worked in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for over ten years in various capacities.
